Machine Made Carpets
Without a doubt, the carpet is recognized as the most beautiful and popular home flooring worldwide. The discovery of the oldest hand-knotted carpet during archaeological excavations reveals that the art of carpet weaving and knotting techniques has a long history, dating back over 4,000 years to ancient Persia (modern-day Iran).
With the design and construction of weaving machinery and the invention of synthetic fibers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, machine-made carpets gradually secured a significant share of the home flooring market due to their high production speed and lower raw material costs. Today, numerous state-of-the-art weaving machines around the world are manufacturing a wide variety of machine-made carpets tailored to diverse consumer tastes and requirements.
The production of machine-made carpets consists of three main stages: spinning, weaving, and finishing.
Unlike hand-knotted carpets, where yarns are secured in place by knots, in machine-made carpets, the yarns are laid parallel to one another. After the weaving process is complete, they are fixed in place with an adhesive during the finishing stage. The variety of fibers and different weave structures further underscores the critical importance of the finishing process.
Styrene-butadiene resins, as the most suitable and widely used adhesives in the finishing process, ensure complete anchoring of the yarns, thereby extending the carpet’s service life. By enhancing penetration, providing excellent hand feel, and increasing mechanical strength, these resins impart a superior quality to the final product.
With a dedicated focus on various types of machine-made carpets and the production of specialized styrene-butadiene latex resins — tailored according to fiber type, carpet density, weave structure, and desired hand feel — our company has successfully met all the expectations of both carpet manufacturers and consumers. Furthermore, we are fully prepared to design and develop new products aligned with future requirements, continuing to serve this major industry.
